A quiet day…justakrazymom | September 27th, 2007 @ 2:50 pm
Well today Taejan woke up with the nasty cough myself and the other 2 wee ones have had for a few weeks. We decided to have a nice quiet day.. relatively speaking. Jadziah had dance so we went but we didn’t stay.. my MIL offered to bring her home after class so I took her up on that.
Before we left Jadziah made her Godmother a birthday card.. I think she did really well trying to write Happy Birthday..

At home the boys got their learning done then when Ziah got home they did their science together ( Noah is basically teaching this to them..it’s a nice way to get them all together)

After Taejan went to bed I pulled out the reader from the Hooked On Phonics program we have that we are not using.. Declan sat down and read aloud to me 6 of the 14 books in the first level.. he tried the 7th but he got frustrated so we stopped.. won’t be long and he will be reading them all fluently! He loves that he is a reader now.. he’s so proud of himself!

now Nap time/rest time is over..it’s gorgeous out and once I get my laundry all put away we will go outside for a few!!!

Ewww sorry to hear about the nasty coughs there. I hope all of you get better soon. I know my girls will be getting some runny noses as soon as our weather turns cool. That is the only thing that I do not like about the fall, other than that, I love it! Can I ask how old Declan is? He just looks so young to be reading. My Lindsay is 5 and she can read three word sentences. We were so proud when she read her first word. She had stickers from head to toe on her. It’s moments like that, that make me proud to be a homeschool mom.

Alison- your blog is great!
I enjoyed today’s pics- it’s great to see the kids all learning together!
We are enjoying a pretty quiet day also.
BTW, that reading program sounds great- I would be interested in takinbg a look at it. Believe it or not, my 5 y.o. is already at a 2nd to 3rd grade reading level, but my 6 (almost 7 y.o.) is getting a very slow start- he’s good at math, but the reading is just not ‘clicking’, kwim?
