Someone once said to me..justakrazymom | September 28th, 2007 @ 3:23 pm
That she’s never been in a Home schooling home that didn’t have piles of “stuff” and experiments and other such things all over. Now me, being the Queen of decluttering and neatness..well I just totally said no way..not MY house..never…
Ah… well as they say..never say never… while it’s not a mess.. we do have more “stuff” around then I’d like.. I try and try to keep it all organized.. and we usually start the week off with it all in it’s place.. but inevitably by Friday… the house has exploded!
So I have piles of this and that on the computer stand, papers I need to look over and files on the file cabinet , our Learning closet and Learning cabinet..well they look like 3 kids have been in and out of them all week! I have 1/2 done decorations, and various art projects in various stages of finish.. not to mention lots of normal cleaning to do.
How does one educate 3 kids, clean a decent size house, manage said house.. live life and not explode? I feel like I am in a constant circle.. clean this room, clean that, wash these clothes, wash those, help with this work, teach that subject.. lather rinse repeat…
Am I complaining..heck no.. really I am not. Days like yesterday affirm for me why I do this. My kids are happy..for the most part anyway… my house isn’t perfect..but it’s ok.. I have a great circle of friends.. and one I’d happily call my “best friend” ( anyone else feel 8 when they say that?)..Life is really good..even if there are dust bunnies under the bed, dirty pans in the stove and marker on the wall!
Mindless Ramblings!

Our house isn’t perfect either. I keep it up pretty nicely though. There are times when we will have books and crayons piled up on the dining room table, it is where we do all of our lessons. As soon as the lessons are finished, we place them back on the bookshelf. I keep a bookshelf full of my teaching materials and the girls workbooks are placed there too, along with all of their visual learning materials. Arts and craft materials are packed away neatly in their own little containers, but still somehow my house still seems to get cluttered. How I would love to have an extra room for the girl’s classroom. It would be so perfect. We could make all the mess we wanted during our lessons and then just close the door when we are done. :0)
