Well what a day..remember THIS post in March about Noah’s helmet?..if not go read it.. it’s important..then come back and see why.
Ya see today.. Noah and I spent 4 hours in the ER…apparently his bike decided he need to vacate the premises rather fast and the road broke his fall.. he got messed up..rather nastily.. But again.. remember that post? Well he DID learn his lesson that day, and what was a very bad crash was kept from being a life altering crash because of his helmet.This is what Noah’s face looks like:
You can’t see the scrapped up shoulder, road rash arm, the 2 front teeth that went straight through his lip , the scrapped fingers and jammed finger.. or the bad concussion he has.He may end up glowing from the Cat Scan and x rays…. He’s messed up.He’s missing his Cast Party, a friends party, a concert, the July 4th road race..but he’s going to be ok because of that helmet. I feel so terrible for my baby, but the Dr said, repeatedly that had he NOT had his helmet on..well things would have been much worse. So PLEASE.. be one of “those parents” that requires helmets… because Noah has proven they really do work!
Also..if your already one of those parents.. or plan to become one ..take a minute to read this on the proper fit and wear of a helmet..too many kids are wearing ones not fastened, ones too loose ,too big, too small..all of which will NOT protect them..a new helmet is $20..your child’s life is priceless.

I am so glad he’s alright! My friend’s little girl was riding her bile on a path that was at the top of a hill. She hit a rock and the bike went over the hill. She broke her arm. If she hadn’t been wearing her helmet….well, you know!

Noah, i’m sorry you got hurt and I hope you heal quickly, but thank you for setting an example of wearing your helmet! My kids “read” over my shoulder and understand how important helmets are, but it’s awesome to show them that “big kids” wear them too.

This was WONDERFUL seeing as my oldest son who also “forgets” his helmet is standing beside me going “OH MY GOD…WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM???” Well, son, this is why momma says “BRYCE GET YOUR HELMET!” Sorry about your face Noah, but you have just shown a little kid what can happen if he doesn’t wear his helmet. You may have just saved a little kid!

Oh Alison, I am so glad that he is ok. I know that you must have been worried sick about him. Poor thing, he really looks banged up pretty good. You don’t know how glad I am that we got Lindsay her pretty pink helmet. She loves it and will ALWAYS wear it.
