Our week!justakrazymom | September 7th, 2008 @ 7:06 am
Well we had a busy but fun week. The weather here has been just amazing..and boy have the kids been enjoying it! We’ve gotten lots of “real schooling” in, mostly first thing in the morning and a few “night school” sessions with Declan. Noah joined a new youth group and even after one night I can tell he’s going to thrive there! Ziah had her first soccer game, and we had a birthday party for my niece! Karate we gone to and lots of fun was had through the week!
Here’s Noah doing his Algebra 1.. we are using Teaching Textbooks this year after 2 years with MUS for him. We liked MUS but TT Is a much better fit for Noah. It’s a pricey program for sure, but I am so very glad we went with it!

Here’s Declan doing his learning at one of our “night school” sessions:

Noah cooked the kids breakfast the other day:

and my oh my have we gotten a ton of use out of our new pool. The weather has been about the warmest and driest stretch we’ve had all summer…

Taejan prefers his Sandbox… I can’t believe he can even fit in it anymore!Think he has enough trucks and tractors? he sure doesn’t..LOL

We’ve done a lot of art.. Eric’s now brave enough to paint with the kids while I am schooling Noah:

Declan has discovered a love of “bigger kid” puzzles.. and has gone through them like water… I wish we had more!

Oh we did a neat “art” and nature project..I actually got this idea from my friend Alison last year and we finally did it!
Needed: 1/2 an egg carton per kid…color each compartment a different color:

add a few kids:

then hit the road.. have them find objects from nature that match the colors:

not required..but also good : being goofy on the way:

Come home, add paper and good ole Elmers glue:

it was a very arty day for us!

Oh and take a look at Taejan’s sunflower!

Well until next time!

Your pool looks great.
We haven’t been much in the past weeks because of the rain and the rain bring cooler wheather. Puts a chill in that water I can’t shake. LOL!
I love that you do nightschool. I love the nature hunt with the colored eeg carton! I will be doing that. Tell T that his sunflower is so pretty and big.

I loved that nature art project. Very cool! Looks like a lot of great work going on. Those sunflowers are so pretty and so big. We only had one of ours survive and it wasn’t very big at all. I think that we planted ours way too soon last year. Lots of great photos Alison!

That art project sounds fun! We’ll have to do that once our leaves start changing. For now the only colors they’d find are green and brown lol
I was just saying to my mom how ridiculous it is that the community pool is closed now since they always close on Labor Day and yet the last week was warmer than pretty much all of August!
