Lap-Note’s?
We are avid Lapbooker’s around here… but.. Declan and I have decided to stop making said lapbooks and start making notebooking pages instead with the lapbook items..This way I can have things in 3 ring binder’s verses lapbooks all over.This also allows us to add to each topic much faster and easier AND he can have a full record of everythignon that topic from 6 years till he’s done.. that will be very cool!
So our first is Jena Jaguar and here it is.. we didn’t do all the activites some of them were below his level and of no intrest to him and some we just didn’t do..but we still learned a lot and loved it..as we always do with HOAC!
Mid Week Update!
I haven’t posted pictures of what we’ve been up too in a few so while I have 5 minutes I thought I would!
Let’s see.. well the kids “Fun Boxes” as they call them have become a huge hit around here. They can only have them after breakfast once they are dressed and only for about 30 minutes so they aren’t getting tired of them at all.. I also change them over about every 4 days and the kids have begun swapping things sometimes..LOL
This is them Monday getting their fresh “new” boxes!Yeah Declan didn’t get dressed yet but that’s ok..this time!
And playing the various games that are in their boxes:
Declan and Ziah have taken to doing History at night now.. this works well as some nights Taejan is already in bed. We are loving Story of the World vol 1 with History Odyessy! Even when Taejan is awake it’s easy to get him to help and or listen to the stories with us!
There has been lots of Fun School too.. Between cooking:
and even making fog they’ve had a blast!
Eric has started really working with Taejan and Ziah while I am doing seat work with Declan… so they are getting a lot of FUN preschool/Kindergarten time now! Eric has learned to make anything a learning experience.. even Connect 4 with a 3 year old.. whala it’s patterning!
and of course since it is almost Halloween they’ve been making lots of pumpkins..includin painting potato’s to look like pumpkins!

Declan got to help Noah with his Biology homework the other night:
and he’s done some good seatwork for himself too!
of course there is always lots of good ole fun too.. for Taejan fun is often a task.. he cleaned my sink the other day…
but sometimes fun for him is just playing with his new excavator(Thanks to Gramma):
And fun for all ( well not Noah..he was in school) is just enjoying the first snowfall of the year!
Oh and fun the other day was going Trick or Treating at the local mall!
Birthday Girl!
Well somehow my little princess went and turned 5 this morning..
Here she is last night..her last night as a 4 year old!
and today the minute of her birth:

My poor girl..
She’s sick.. sore throat, ear ache , headache..the whole thing..why oh why ? It’s her birthday tomorrow and it’s likely to be miserable for her!
Goals for the week..here’s mine what are yours?
Homeschooling:
My immediate goal is to get the school room back in order. Then I was 3 full days of schooling. We’ve totally focused more on fun school lately and it’s been so nice! Without having a 9th grader in class it’s easier to let the little ones have more fun while they learn.
Also one goal is math with Ziah. While Declan and I paid a math game today she knew some of the simple answers ( 1+2, 3-2 etc) so I ordered a new Primer Student book and we will start he on formal math as soon as it comes!!
Personal:
To get to the gym every morning..I’ve been 7 out of the last 9 days.. I feel better and am starting to look like I’ve been going!
To get Noah’s school on track..the transition to PS has been an overall nightmare.. Not so much on our part, but on theirs, wrong classes , no bus yet, bike stolen..it’s been a rough 2.5 weeks and I am ready for it to get smoother! ( Disclaimer I LOVE all Noah’s teacher’s I’ve spoken to and his Guidance Counselor is amazing.. it’s not the people that are irking me, it’s more the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing that is driving us bonkers!)
To get the master bedroom cleaned… It tends to be the dumping ground and it shows!
