A crafty kinda day!
Wednesday’s are typically our day not to HAVE to go anywhere..and today we took advantage of that. That also means while we get to chill and not get dressed if we choose, we also have lots of hours to fill. So in addition to normal lessons ( ok we only did a few normal lessons..lol) we decided to make some more spring time crafts!
First up was Hand Print Butterfly’s.
Needed:
Kids
Paint
Yellow and black construction paper
Google eyes
Pipe cleaners
Glue
I paint my kids hand with a big ole paint brush verses dipping their hands in the paint.. less waste that way:

They each made 2 sets of prints on the yellow paper:

Once those were dry I cut each hand out seperately. While we waited the kids glued the eyes and 2 halves of pipe cleaners on to the bodies I had cut from the black construction paper:

Once everything was dry we glued the wings on:

And now we have some sweet little butterfly’s “flying” around my kitchen!

Next we made shamrock sun catchers:
Materials needed:
Shamrock template
green construction paper
tissue paper
hole punch
glue

Take the cut out shamrocks( 2 per finished sun catcher) And punch holes in them . Have the kids glue tissue paper over the holes:

Then glue the other shamrock on top and let dry..once dry hang in the window (if the sun had been out it would have been nice):

Lastly we made rainbows.
Materials needed:
Paints
glue
white paper plates
cottonballs
I cut the cheap paper plates down by about 1/4
then I arched out the bottom to give it the overall rainbow look. I gave each kiddo a 6 well palate with the colors of the rainbow in it and a paintbrush. off they went:

After the paint dried the kiddo’s glued some cotton balls on to make the clouds:

The finished products:
