Stone Mountain

The last stop on vacation was Stone Mountain.

This is the skyride up the Mountain:

this is us on the skyride up the mountain:

up at the top:

Down in the little Village..

Glass blowing:

Playing while we wanted for the laser show:

they made a slew of new friends..

Taejan even took  home a piece of rock..shhhhh

almost time for the show.. once it did start it was very loud..and with Taejan’s sensory issues he spent the whole show either on my sisters lap or mine with his hood up and his ears covered! The show was simply amazing though..

we got back to my sisters very late..slept,got up ate, packed up and hit the road..HOME>. it took 19 hours, one confusing detour and 3.25 tanks of gas..but we made it safe and sound..

we got home at 5:50am..Noah showered and went to school! About 9am eric got called into work and at 9:30 he came home,he was laid off. We’ve now joined so many also affected by this horrible economic situation. We are waiting for the numbers from unemployment..but we know they won’t be enough to live off of..so I am currently looking for part time work.. I really don’t want to be an adult right now..

Centennial Olympic Park

After 4 hours + in the aquarium we headed out into the heat of the day. We walked over to a very packed Centennial Olympic park.

The Georgia Aquarium

Saturday we headed out early. Noah and my sister went to the Tut exhibit, then met up with us at The Georgia Aquarium. I have to say it was an amazing 4 hours..the place is very cool.

there are lots of spots with tanks overhead..which was really neat!

gator kiss..

another overhead tank..

The penguins are not on exhibit and the behind the scene’s visits was over full..so we didn’t get to see any live..BUT Ziah did get to see this guy:

The coral reef tank..I think Declan and Eric could have stayed there for days just staring at it.

Heading North..

We left Chandra’s a little after 9am and headed north..up to Marietta,GA to see my sister. I haven’t seen her since my wedding almost 8 years ago and she’s never met my 3 younger kiddo’s.

She lives in a great little complex, even has a small pond right out her living room!

We walked around her whole complex..

Just relaxing..

So in between all the planned fun..we had lots of fun, playing, relaxing and snoozing!

Ian and Taejan rode bikes:

Taejan slept..

we relaxed..

I think Kristen and Chandra were talking about me here…hummmm

Ziah tried out some new styling shoes:

more relaxing…

the boys had some bubble bath fun..

Ian snoozed..Kristen is under that blanket hiding from the camera..

yup..still hiding..

Ian and Taejan played with the extra Parcheesi peices:

while Kristen and Declan and I played the game:

the boys were still playing..

Ian..well he makes a heck of a face sometimes..be scared..very scared..

Ian ..he also has a future as a stylist..lol

how sweet is that boy ( and his mama)

it was hot and one day the kids got the sprinkler out:

more relaxing

a driveway picnic:

more game playing

my boys sleeping together..now mind you..at home my kids sleep in their beds, and go to bed early..on vacation they fell right into the groove of staying up late and crashing whereever..it was GREAT.. so a scene like this is so sweet for me to see:

I promised my kids once Noah’s out of school for the year we can do the later more relaxed nights…

while we were packing the van the night before we left the boys did some perfect push ups:

Chandra and I did escape for lunch alone one day and also went to a local teacher store.. got some great stuff there!  The night before we left Randy and Chandra and Eric and I left the kids and went into Savannah for dinner. We ate at a GREAT place.. Masato of Japan..wow..we had a great time..Chandra’s husband not only makes a mean margarita he makes for a lot of fun when your out!

this is the pile of friend rice they served..the food kept coming and coming it was unreal!

It was sad getting up Friday and leaving..I had to fight the tears from welling up..we loved being there, they are truly a great family..but it was time to move on to the next stop..outside Atlanta to my sister’s place!I will say that Ziah has cried on and off, she wants to go back to Miss Chandra’s, she wants to live there and go to Miss Chandra’s church ( she went on Wednesday while we were there)..
