Since Friday marks the end of this schooling session, and we are off all next week.. we didn’t want to get into a long science lesson. So we decided instead to do some training.. some Crime Scene Investigator training that is!

Today’s lesson was all about fingerprints. why we have ridges, how each person’s are unique, what types there are and which ones we have, and why they transfer to other objects!
First up.. the kids learned that those ridges have a purpose beyond ID’ing us if we commit a crime.. they actually help us pick up items..they didnt believe me at first..but a little tape on the finger tips taught them for certain:

Next we investigated our own fingers and determined what type of ridges we have..all 3 wee ones have Loop and mommy has Whorl ( with a touch of Arch thrown in):

Next the kids learned all the icky stuff they pick up along the way ( hair oil etc) helps them leave finger prints..
Then they got to work printing each other..

then they compared everyone’s thumb prints.. Declan and Taejan’s are very similar and Ziah’s not too different..where Mommy’s are very different!

We had a blast and they didn’t want to stop..but we need to leave some for tomorrow!
Very cool!
That’s just too awesome!

I am LOVING this! No doubt the kids learned tons and had fun at the same time~
