Wrapping up the month
I have some random pictures to get posted before we start a new month.. It’s hard to believe March begins tomorrow!
Jadziah is my creative girl..she made herself a robot costume out of my new vacuum’s box:

but 2 teeth in the last few weeks:
Declan got his very own fishing pole for his birthday ( now to convince daddy to take him fishing!)
Our new Learning Wrap ups and Learning Palette have gotten lots of use:
Swim lessons are going well.. This session is almost over but all 3 are already signed up for the next one..taejan is excited because he gets to take lessons this time!
Noah had to wear all blue to school for a pep rally ( day before the last wrestling meet) so this is the shirt he bought..crazy teen!

The monday after Declan’s birthday he and 3 of his best friends went to play laser tag, go to the arcade and the indoor bounce place..while they were gone one of his friends mom and sisters stayed and played:
We also had another friend of mine from highschool and her 4 kids over to play ( one being a wee baby I got to confiscate for the afternoon):
And another day more friends over ( the public school’s were on break):
We started our new Geography curric and we LOVE it:
Ziah’s working hard on her math and phonics:
( she uses Singapore math but loves the MUS manipulative’s)
Declan finished MUS Gamma and is about 1/2 way thru Singapore 3A:
Taejan began Get Ready for the Code:
all 3 working on their various language arts items:
real winter finally arrived so there has been lots of outside time:
( and some time at the local ski mountain not shown)

A Walk on the Lake…
After a fabulously productive morning of learning I piled the kids in the van and we drove over to the lake. The sun was out, there was no wind, the temperature was as close to 32 as it’s been in awhile..it was perfect! It was just what we needed….fresh air, vitamin D and exercise…
Now I am a self admitted wimp… we did not walk on any ice.. the lake is drained way down this year, and the utter lack of decent snow has left much of the bottom and the sandbar all exposed…so we stuck to that!
The blue sky..oh my that gorgeous blue sky!
Taejan found a visor from a helmet.. he was in his glory with his “treasure”
after we got home ( and got new dry pants and socks on..lol) the kids had their usual hot cocoa!
Lenten Interruption..
Interrupting this Lenten leave of absence to shout a big ole proud mommy moment..Declan got a “96″( he did as good or better than 96%) on his 2nd grade CAT test.. did I mention he’d only be 1/2 way thru 2nd grade if he was IN school…
He got only FOUR wrong on the test.. yup..proud mama.. I know standardized tests aren’t the end all beat all..but it is a good measuring stick so to speak… and it means I can relax a touch .. and maybe give him more independent work while I focus on Ziah’s reading even more for awhile..
