Christmas “Village”

Every year my kiddo’s do a Gingerbread house..and they drive me nutso. There is never enough frosting with the kits to both secure the houses and decorate them. This year I decided to try something different.

items needed.. pre-packaged Gingerbread house ( or village as we had this year), and a pack of marshmallows like these:

You the microwave them in a bowl for 45ish seconds and you can dip or spread the warm melted marshmallow on your gingerbread and stick it together like a pro!

Since the marshmallow is instantly sticky the houses are set and ready to go right away. We then used the frosting to decorate:

I melted more marshmallow and spread it like snow around the “scene” and stuck the ice cream cone tree’s we made earlier in the week in the snow :

And there we have our new Village!

Christmas 2010

Another Christmas came ( and went)… I’m in awe at how much faster each one seems to come and go.. time is moving entirely too fast for my taste lately. That said I thought I’d give ya a brief view into our Christmas 2010.

Taejan and Ziah had been practicing for the Pageant at Church for a few weeks and were amazing!

My angel and shepherd ( although still wondering who thought giving Taejan a staff was a good idea..luckily for the “real deal” he was perfect with it..lol)

With my friend Jen’s daughter who was Mary:

The Altar:

Taejan with one of his many girlfriends:

In character.. he did so well with this..in fact in practice he fell asleep lol

Ziah was the perfect angel:

Oh i simply adore this picture…

Opening a gift..

Christmas morning:

As always it was a wonderful Holiday season!

The most wonderful time of the year..

So we’ve had a great week or so leading up to Christmas.. We have spent so much time with friends and family..which is what this is all about! We’ve made crafts, played in the snow, fought a cold or two, practiced for the Christmas Pageant etc…

We made our usual Gingerbread house.. the kids love making one every year:

Did I mention Taejan loves boxes?? I swear I could get him nothing but boxes and he’d be happy!

We had Christmas with my Mother in law:

I got a wonderful new Canon Rebel T1i..oh my.. I am in love with it!!!
All pictures are now from that awesome not so little camera…

I got some amazing shots of Declan at Bball ( he’s stealing the ball):

and of course played with the camera..a lot.. not sure if the resizing program and the water mark program I use takes away from the quality of the pictures, but they are FAB!

I got a new haircut AND learned why hair straighteners rock!

Ziah saw her Godmother and exchanged gifts:

The kitten has a fascination with the bathtub..

Not sure what she expects is going to come out of the spout..

Ziah and Declan played some Wii Sports baseball.. I musta taken 300 pictures..here’s a few..

The kids new Singapore Science came:

They decorated some Gingerbread men my mother made for them ( you didn’t think I baked did ya? course not…LMAO)

And the temptation got to be too much and they nibbled on the Gingerbread house:

My mother brought the gifts she got for the 6 of us over and wow oh wow is my tree full..overflowing and unreal. ( note these are gifts for 7 people..lol)

Tonight we go to our best friends for their annual party, tomorrow night is the pageant at Church. Taejan is a shepherd ( who thought giving him a staff was a good idea..WHO??LOL) and Ziah is an angel. After that we have our big family party. Christmas day we stay home and just enjoy the day!

From my family to your we wish you a warm and wonderful Holiday!!!

Christmas 2009

Another wonderful, much anticipated Christmas has come and gone. There were parties with friends, parties with family, and much time spent together.

This was by far the best Christmas in recent memory.

My 4 year was a wonder to watch. He spent the last 10 days in an unmatched state of pure excitement over Christmas. His energy and spirit were unrivaled.

Christmas Eve my amazing daughter exclaimed that the best gift was “having us as her family”. I could have received nothing else and been in pure bliss.

The soon to be 8 year old spent Christmas on the couch doubled over thanks to a nasty stomach bug, yet as he opened his gifts when a wave of “ok feeling” came over him..he still exclaimed that it was “The best Christmas ever”…yes..my heart melted.

The teenager even had a twinkle of joy in his eye more than once. He never asks for anything , and was truly surprised and pleased with the gifts he was given.. to see that child like twinkle in his eyes was a gift for me.

here are my amazing kids on Christmas Eve..
