I haven’t posted pictures of what we’ve been up too in a few so while I have 5 minutes I thought I would!

Let’s see.. well the kids “Fun Boxes” as they call them have become a huge hit around here. They can only have them after breakfast once they are dressed and only for about 30 minutes so they aren’t getting tired of them at all.. I also change them over about every 4  days and the kids have begun swapping things sometimes..LOL

This is them Monday getting their fresh “new” boxes!Yeah Declan didn’t get dressed yet but that’s ok..this time!

Declan and Ziah have taken to doing History at night now.. this works well as some nights Taejan is already in bed. We are loving Story of the World vol 1 with History Odyessy! Even when Taejan is awake it’s easy to get him to help and or listen to the stories with us!

There has been lots of Fun School too.. Between cooking:

and even making fog they’ve had a blast!

Eric has started really working with Taejan and Ziah while I am doing seat work with Declan… so they are getting a lot of FUN preschool/Kindergarten time now! Eric has learned to make anything a learning experience.. even Connect 4 with a 3 year old.. whala it’s patterning!

and of course since it is almost Halloween they’ve been making lots of pumpkins..includin painting potato’s to look like pumpkins!

Declan got to help Noah with his Biology homework the other night:

and he’s done some good seatwork for himself too!

of course there is always lots of good ole fun too.. for Taejan fun is often a task.. he cleaned my sink the other day…

but sometimes fun for him is just playing with his new excavator(Thanks to Gramma):

And fun for all ( well not Noah..he was in school) is just enjoying the first snowfall of the year!

Oh and fun the other day was going Trick or Treating at the local mall!

After that was swim then Karate for Noah.. We got word our class in NY was canceled for Tuesday so we made plans to hang out with Robin and the crew!

How beautiful is this view?? it was snowing and it is just so durn pretty!

We got home and did some work on our Season’s book.. Declan asked to use one of his science kits to make snow.. didn’t seem to matter it was snowing like MAD outside ( and BTW still is 36 hours later!!)..

Taejan wasn’t feeling good by late afternoon..my stomach was a little iffy and Ziah..well she’s been a pill all week..lol

We had planned to go to Melissa’s today but Taejan was up alot last night and I didn’t want to risk her kids, so we stayed home and stayed put all day..

After all our seatwork and lunch Declan and Noah began the Sled Dogs Lapbook from HOAC. I am really glad I can tweak it for Declan and still have Noah doing the bulk of it.. it’s nice for them to work together! After that was done this is the scene I found in Declan’s room:

he set up his own sled and team.. I love it! We are one chapter from done with Call of the Wild..then once we’ve finished the Lapbook we’ll start 20,000 leagues.. anyone know of a lapbook or something for that book??

Sunday morning we got a lot of snow..Eric dropped Noah of skiing and he and Taejan headed to Home Depot..I took the middle 2 out in the blinding,white out, wind blowing in your face snow! We had fun… I think.

Noah got PS2 and Guitar Hero III for Christmas… and recently I bought him Guitar Hero I..well needless to say he’s addicted.. I must admit so am I….I LOVE this game and really hope they come out with a country music version soon!

We’ve had a busy few days.. lots of fun! I’m still fighting a bad head cold so we didn’t get nearly as much done as I wish we had..but oh well right??

Yesterday Declan spent the entire day with my MIL..so Ziah got some much needed alone time ( while taejan napped anyway).. she made candles from the kit the kids got from Owen and Lila for Christmas!

Then today we woke up to about 5 or 6 inches of snow ( and the PS had no school for some odd reason..it wasn’t THAT bad out!!!). I had planned to start our Let it Snow lapbook from Hands of a Child and got worried the other day when all our snow was GONE. How awesome for us this storm arrived just in time!

First off we sang a few songs..please note I sound like a 13 year old boy who’s voice is cracking because of this cold..LOL.. it was amusing! We read Oliver and Amanda and the Big Snow.. which happens to be the Book Club book for Declan’s library thing on Wednesday! Next we made some Coffee filter snowflakes. I was so impressed with Ziah’s , her scissor skills have come so far since we started the Kumon Books.

After this  we gathered up 3 cups of snow, marked them and placed one outside, one in on the window just above the heat and one in the kitchen window with no heat source near it!

we set the timer for 15 minutes and went and had a look!

The one outside actually had MORE snow in it..lol

We rechecked in another 15 and Declan dictated the results to me in his own words and I wrote them in the lapbooks section. He was totally right on target for what and why and I am rather proud of the little bugger!

Well for the last week it’s been way above freezing, we’ve had rain,fog and lots of sun. The kids hard work has melted into a pitiful small pile of almost nothing!
