We’ve had a few playdates, a field trip to a local college’s planetarium and science club. Of course there has been dance, karate and swim. Things are in full swing at the dojo gearing up for the Tournament the 27th.. I have all 3 boys in it this year and it’s going to be such an exciting day we can hardly wait!

Taejan has been “helping” Declan practice his sparring..Taejan can’t officially spar in karate til he’s a bit older, but he has Declan’s old gear so they work together..bonus for me is the both get some aggression and energy out!

Declan is reading his 11th book of the year:

Taejan has gotten much better about keeping himself occupied while we do lessons:

Reading has become so much easier for Ziah.. I love seeing her eyes light up when she reads a word right the first time.. she’s still plugging along on her phonics though and getting better and better!

Declan finished his Math U See Gamma and decided to be done with the MUS curric.. he is now 1/2 done with Singapore 3A:

He’s loving the learning pallet still also..although I need some more cards!

Declan has been using the Wii Band hero/guitar hero and Sing It a lot.. I call this music:

It’s been a great few weeks!

They’ve been working all winter on the dam , not sure exactly what they are doing.. but they are pumping the water over and doing something. This is why the lake is so low now. Taejan loved watching the “worker men”.

The kids played for over an hour.. a perfect example of why I love this time of the year… the kids can be out in light jackets, or no jackets, throwing rocks in the water..and ice and snow.. it’s such a wonderful thing to watch and experience.. I love seasons!

I hadn’t planned or thought Taejan would participate..I figured he’d play with Michelle’s youngest who is a year younger…but alas Taejan decided he is a bigger kid now and hopped right up and was a full on participant! My baby is growing up:

There were 2 newer kids and some that haven’t seen each other in a few months so they did an activity with yarn and showed them how they are all connected:

We spent the day cleaning out the van, the garage and such..then i went to a RUN.. well more a walk/run as I am training myself .I tried this once before and wimped out after 1/2 a session but not this time, I am determined. My 8 year old wants to do the annual 5k that our city does before the 4th of July parade and I am not sitting on the sidelines.. Noah ran it last year and this year 4 of the 6 of us will be in it ( God willing).

So week 1 day 1.. I did about 3 miles and ran about 1/3 of that.. I didn’t time myself I just jogged when I could till i couldn’t then walked.. I jogged way more than i thought I’d be able to..so I am happy.. I will be able to run again Tuesday and Thursday then Saturday… I WILL do it..
