This was Noah’s 8th grade one:
I will turn it and my Letter’s of Intent for the 08-09 school year in on the 28th when our school system is back from spring break!
Sample of the dividers.. This is Math and I always write a brief summary or what we used, what worked, what didn’t , if we finished the book etc for each subject on it’s divider.:

I put about 5 samples from each of the Math U See books he used this year:

This is a science Lapbook I attached with tape and a hole punch..perfect way to show them in his portfolio without worrying about them getting lost!

His Switched on Schoolhouse “report card” for Science and Language arts:

some samples of the actual written work he did for Language arts that wasn’t part of a Lapbook:

One of his History Lapbooks:

Since we do a lot of items that can’t be 3 hole punched and I DO take a LOT of pictures I always add a section marked “Enrichment ,Field Trips and other activities”..in here I put any pictures that resemble school stuff, and items from field trips etc from the year:

I am so glad to have this done so early this year!!
Declan’s 1st grade portfolio:
This was for what the school dept calls his 1st grade year..even though for us it was 2nd grade..
A lot of our portfolio is pictures as we do a lot of “unschooling”..ie child led learning..and lots of that is just not pen and paper work:

also pictures of science experiments..as I don’t yet have the kids keep notes..so pictures are our “proof” we did it!

ELA:

Math:

I also make certain to add in a few of his lapbooks and such:
